As with road vehicles, aircraft must also undergo regular maintenance and inspections. It is precisely defined after how many flying hours which maintenance must be carried out. Similar to the servicing of cars, there are also different service intervals or services that must be carried out on commercial aircraft. To do this, the aircraft must be taken to an appropriate hangar. There, experienced technicians carry out the maintenance according to precisely defined checklists. The maintenance and repair concept for a commercial aircraft consists of maintenance and repair events, so-called letter checks (A, B, C and D checks). A checks are carried out most frequently, the B check is carried out every six months, for example, and a C check is carried out approximately every two years and lasts a few days.
The D-check is the longest event and is due approximately every six to ten years. Aircraft downtime during maintenance means unproductive time for airlines. The shortest maintenance work is therefore carried out during night shifts. The process of making aircraft available again when they arrive, including short-term repairs to the aircraft on the airport apron, is known as line maintenance. The check and maintenance of the engines is certainly the most time-consuming. They weigh several tons, are very large and must not be damaged during maintenance under any circumstances. Special care must therefore be taken during maintenance. But safety must also be a priority when handling engines.
In a recent case, a customer wanted a transport trolley with which he could transport and move his engine mount with the aircraft engine using a forklift truck in order to better transport the large components internally. For this purpose, a special steel construction was designed into which the engine mount could be placed. Jung trolleys and a drawbar that is compatible with the forklift's trailer coupling were fitted to transport the trolley.
In the current case, the special steel construction was adapted to a specific engine type. (was adapted to the existing engine mount)
Yes, this is possible after a minor adjustment.
Yes, that's no problem. Any RAL color can be used at the customer's request.
