The annual education fair in Uhingen, Swabia, once again shows just how important it is for companies today to attract young talent at an early stage. This took place on Saturday, 12 October in the Uditorium. Hundreds of schoolchildren were able to find out about training, study or internship opportunities from 80 exhibiting companies.
"The days when countless school leavers applied for a
single training place are long gone," says Mayor Matthias Wittlinger. He
is not alone with this statement. The majority of school leavers attend
secondary schools or begin a course of study. The classical
"education" is being chosen less and less. This is a trend that
crafts enterprises in particular are clearly feeling. In order to counteract
this trend, Carl Stahl has been presenting itself successfully at numerous
training trade fairs for years. It is important to inspire interested,
potential junior staff for the company. The battle for the few applicants among
the companies has long since begun. More and more often, unusual means are used
to attract school leavers.
Carl Stahl as a medium-sized company with its positive company development offers school leavers numerous training and study courses. The company offers internships to those who still attend school or are in the process of finding a career. In addition, there are practical semesters and bachelor theses in the portfolio. All around an attractive and varied offer. For this reason, the Carl Stahl trade fair team was very satisfied with the course of the fair. Personnel Manager Carola Gärtner therefore draws a positive conclusion: "The number of visitors to our trade fair stand was very pleasing, as in previous years. We had numerous interesting discussions with applicants. Above all, we were positively surprised by the number of students interested in industrial apprenticeships".
